Cooking with a cause: Peruvian Classics with Market Tour

What to Expect

We start out experience with a visit to the most important and historical market of Cusco, which is the "SAN PEDRO MARKET". We will spend about 40 minutes inside the market and you will see different ingredients, fruits, vegetables and foods that are indispensable in Peruvian culture.

Afterwards we will visit our cooking studio where we will start our cooking experience. We will start out by making our own drinks, this will either be a pisco sour (traditional peruvian drink), or a lemonade for underage people or anybody that prefers a non-alcoholic drink. We will continue by making our own appetizer and main dish.

All profits of this class are donated to CEDNA, an NGO dedicated to better the quality of life for families in the surrounding areas of Cusco. You can learn more about CEDNA at http://www.cedna.org/en/.

• Main Dish: Lomo Saltado (vegetarian option available)
• Dessert: Local fruits from the market.
• Cocktail/Drink: Pisco Sour/Lemonade

Schedule

• 9:00 am: Pick up at your hotel (or meet at San Pedro Market at 9:10 am)
• 9:15 am: Local market tour.
• 10:20 am: Arrive at our cooking studio.
• 10:30 am: Introduction of the pisco and making out pisco sour.
• 10:45 am: Cooking and time to enjoy your dish.
• 11:20 am: Cooking and time to enjoy your dish.
• 12:10 pm: Local fruit tasting.
• 12:30 pm: End of the cooking class and ready to take you back to your hotel.
