What to Expect

The Ramen will be served with Sakura color topping (it’s made of dried wheat gluten)!

Ramen is a noodle dish with delicious soup and many different toppings. We will make the soup from the scratch, we don't use instant powder!
Gyoza is a dumpling with minced pork and vegetable stuffing.

Class Information:

After meeting at YJC's cooking studio, we start the class with the lecture about Japanese cuisine & lifestyle. Then, we start cooking Ramen broth and soup from the scratch!

In addition to Ramen, Japanese home cooking chef & Recipe creator YUCa will teach how to make crispy and juicy "Gyoza pizza" which looks like a beautiful flower.

After tasting the final products, YUCa will guide you to the local supermarket and introduce you to other foods and offer shopping tips.

* This is Home-style Ramen & Gyoza class so we don't make egg noodles and gyoza wrappers from scratch in this class. (Just in case, those recipes are on YJC's YouTube channel already. Please subscribe "YUCa's Japanese Cooking"!) You can learn how to make Dashi soup broth and ramen soup from scratch. Thank you for understanding.

" Friendly group cooking in Yuca’s stylish and calm kitchen home. A short tour of a local supermarket is also included at the end of the class. "

What I liked: I loved the information sheet filled with drawings and important information on Japanese food and culture that Yuca gave to us before the class started. Yuca was also a great host and served us Japanese tea when we arrived in her kitchen. We were also given a selection of sakes to drink with our meals!
What to know: Most of the cooking is done altogether as a team! We were all given different tasks to do, it was great teamwork!
Good for: Families and small group looking for a great team building experience.
How to get there: Tabata metro station. Included short taxi ride to Yuca’s house.

Awesome

YUCa is a very kind and nice Sensei. She gave us informative Japanese cuisine history and recipes. Since it is based on teamwork, so the atmosphere is very lively. Also, Ramen and gyoza taste awesome. Hope to see her soon! Thanks YUCa :)

Great time making Ramen and Gyozas

I had a great time at YUCa's cooking class. We met at the train station and then went to her house. It was nice to be taught to cook Ramen from scratch in a Japanese environment. I now finally know also how to make crispy and perfect Gyozas - even got myself a Gyoza pan, now I can follow YUCa's good tips. Many thanks YUCa for a great morning and Lunch. Great Taste, Great Class, Great Experience

My wife and I visited Tokyo for our anniversary and since she loves Japanese food I took her to this cooking class and they did not disappoint. The class was everything that my wife wished for. The class was mainly at Yuca's private kitchen which is located at the heart of Tokyo. There we were able to experience Japanese traditional home. Yuca introduced to us Japanese culture and home cooking techniques over a complimentary Japanese tea. We learned and focused on Japanese home meals that were eaten everyday at home. My wife was definitely beyond satisfied with the activities we had with Yuca and the class.
