Barcelona Cooking Class with La Boqueria Market Tour

What to Expect

This is a dynamic, participative and fun Mediterranean cooking class, guided by professional chef. The experience will start with a tour of the “La Boquería” market, the largest public market in Barcelona, where the guide will tell you about the traditional foods and also the most popular Catalans products.

After that, we come back to our studio in order to start the cooking class. Before starting the cooking class, you will have the chance to try ten tapas from different cities in Spain, and the chef will give a brief explanation of the origins of each ones. After that, we will start the cooking class where you will learn how to make seafood Paella, Spanish omelette and Catalan cream.

You will then be invited to our private lounge for a tasting menu of our cuisine accompanied by the finest wines, all served by waiters. It is an open workshop, it means that can attend up to 10 participants. Here lies its charm and a chance to meet interesting people.

Nestled away in the picturesque Plaça Reial, this dynamic and interactive experience comprises of a tour around the iconic market, La Boqueria, followed by a hands-on cookery class.

The experience begins with an optional tour around the nearby La Boqueria. With a rainbow of top-quality produce and diverse blend of aromas, it’s hardly surprising that it is saturated by tourists, making it all the more useful to have a local guide you through the hustle and bustle.

From anecdotes about the sellers themselves to the history of Catalan gastronomy and its traditions.

Once introduced to their beautiful kitchen, fully stocked with premium chef-approved products, the workshop kicks off with a tasting session. All carefully prepared to perfection, the sampling menu consists of a spectacular array of ten tapas, originating from various cities within Spain. Deliciously garlicky prawns, melt in your mouth croquettes and octopus “feira” are amongst several other

delectable dishes served up by the charismatic chef – all presented to the highest of standards. You will be hard-pressed to find tapas on par elsewhere in the Catalan capital.

After being seduced with sublime flavors, it’s time to acquaint yourself with the fundamental basics of Spanish cooking. From kitchen novices to cooking enthusiasts, those of all skills will take pleasure in learning how to cook Just Royal BCN’s traditional menu of Spanish omelette, seafood paella and a regional favorite, the famous ‘crema catalana’. This communal cooking experience not only allows you to master the art behind the craft of exquisite Spanish cooking but also the chance to mingle with fellow foodies, or simply to enjoy spending time with a loved one.

Not to mention, the workshop is heavily assisted by an endless flow of wine, making both cooking and dining even more enjoyable.

Cooking complete, you will be invited to their private lounge – a gastronomic dining space oozing elegance and finesse. Mealtimes are certainly not something to be rushed in Spain. Therefore, in true Iberian style, enjoy a leisurely feast and revel in your new-found status as a chef and connoisseur of Spanish cuisine. • Potatoes “Bravas” with three sauces

Schedule

Lunch:

• 10:00 am: The experience begins with an optional tour around the nearby La Boquería.
• 10:40 am: All carefully prepared to perfection, the sampling menu consists of a spectacular array of ten tapas, originating from various cities within Spain. Welcome to the participant with snacks and drink while you cook and a brief introduction of the activities will be made.
• 11:40 am: Every participant will have an apron, a table with space, with the materials, the ingredients and the food for cooking the meal. Will count with the help of an assistant and chef, who is the one in charge to give the directions to the team in the elaboration of the recipes.
• 1:00 pm: When the meal is done, the participants will move to the dining area where they will sit at an imperial table to eat the meal they have prepared.

Dinner:

• 3:00 pm: The experience begins with an optional tour around the nearby La Boquería.
• 3:40 pm: All carefully prepared to perfection, the sampling menu consists of a spectacular array of ten tapas, originating from various cities within Spain. Welcome to the participant with snacks and drink while you cook and a brief introduction of the activities will be made.
