Xi'an Local Street Food Tour with TukTuk Ride
What to Expect
During this 3-4 hour foodie tour, you’ll wander through the backstreets of Xi'an on foot, sample dishes at the best local food shops and learn about traditional Chinese culture with an English-speaking local food expert. A special TukTuk ride will be part of this experience as well.
You’ll watch your food being made and learn about what makes it so special to Xi’an locals. Whether it’s sitting by an old man grilling meat over burning coals or watching dumplings being made right in front of you. Whether you are shredding your own pita bread for “Pita Bread Soaked in Lamb Soup” (Yang Rou Pao) or listening to the sound of fresh Biang Biang noodles being made, there's something to love for everyone.
These five to six eateries are scattered around the district, some on main streets and others tucked away in back streets, but they all cook for the locals. When you visit these food stops, you will learn a lot about the local’s lives and the family restaurants that have been making their specialities for generations.

Schedule
- 6:00 pm: Meet your guide at Zhonglou Metro Stop Exit D
- 6:30 pm: Walk to the back alley in the Muslim quarter and taste a range of savoury dishes
- 7:30 pm: Sit down in a famous local restaurant, where you can try shredding your own pita bread
- 8:00 pm: Walk through the local market to try Soup Dumplings
- 8:30 pm: Tuktuk ride to the centre of the Muslim quarter and taste some ice-cream
- 9:00 pm: Walk passed the Bell Tower and eat the best Biang Biang Noodles with some beers and BBQ
- 9:30 pm: At the end of this food tour, we will drop you back to the metro stop
Meeting Point
Meet at Metro Zhonglou Station, Exit D (Bell Tower Metro Stop D), Chinese: 钟楼站. Will drop you back to the metro stop at the end of the tour.
