Foodie Tour: Taste the Authentic Flavors of Mexico

What to Expect

It is a walking tour, having the opportunity to explore the non-touristic areas of Puerto Morelos and Riviera Maya. Share with locals in 6 different stops, where we taste the traditional dishes and our guide, a professional local chef, explains all aspects around the food, history, social importance, ingredients, etc. 

Learn not just about the incredible Mexican gastronomy but about the locals, their traditions and history, you will be able to eat a part of Mexico in every bite. 

Vegetarian and vegan options are available. 

All soft drinks are included. 

Great for families or groups of friends. 

Menu

Our menu varies depending on the day and availability of the street vendors, but generally we have: 

• Tacos de cochinita (slow cooked pork, traditional Mayan dish)
• Basket tacos.
• Quesadillas with handmade tortillas. 
• Local fruit tasting.
• Visit a local house to learn about the corn process to make tortillas. 
• Blue crab empanadas.
• Ceviche

Schedule

• 10:00 am: Meeting point and introduction. Walking through the neighborhoods of Puerto Morelos with stops to taste:
  • Tacos, mayan dish or basket tacos.
  • Chicken-chipotle handmade quesadillas. 
  • Local church, learning the relation between Mexican food and religion.
  • Local grocery store, fruit and juice tasting. 
  • Local Family's home, how they cook the corn to make tortillas.
  • Seafood restaurant.

• 12:30 pm: Final stop and end of the tour
