Private Cooking Class with a Local Family in Delhi

What to Expect

The most authentic cooking can nearly always be found in a family setting. In this class, you'll learn and experience the best Indian home-cooking with a small Indian family in Delhi.

You'll learn all the proper cooking techniques, ingredients lists, and other useful tips for recreating Indian cuisine anywhere. Additionally, Indian culture, history, and cuisine will be extensively discussed. This is your chance to ask anything that you always wanted to know about Indian culture! 

The day will start with a warm welcome in traditional style with tea and/or coffee and homemade Indian snacks. While you enjoy your drinks and snacks, you'll be introduced to the Indian cuisine, the ingredients, and the spices.

Then it's time for action! You'll learn how to make 2-3 authentic Indian dishes of your choice. When everything is prepared and pre-tasted, it's time to enjoy what you have made. The family will provide other delicacies to the main dishes you made, including a delicious dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth! 

The most important thing during this informal class is to connect with each other and have fun!

Menu

Welcome Drink

Snacks 

• Lentil and potato pakora - Deep fried lentil and potato fritters

Main Course (choose any 3 main dishes)

• Mutton/chicken qorma - Famous Mughal curry
• Paneer with spinach gravy
• Any seasonal veggie
• Yellow lentil with seasoning
• Chicken/ mutton biryani - Rice with exotic spices cooked with chicken or mutton

Bread 

• Plain Roti - Homestyle Indian bread
• Puri - Fried puffed bread

Dessert 

• Kheer - Rice with condensed milk

Dessert and snacks will be prepared. You will learn how to make the Main Course & Bread.

Schedule

Morning Session:

• 8:30 am: Pick-up from your hotel or any other location 
• 8:45 am: Welcome with tea and/or coffee and Indian homemade snacks 
• 9:30 am: Introduction to cooking class, spices, and ingredients
• 9:45 am: Start cooking class 
• 12:30 pm: Enjoy your creations with other delicacies
• 1:30 pm: End of the cooking class
• 1:45 pm: Drop off at the hotel or any other location

Afternoon Session:

• 3:30 pm: Pick-up from your hotel or any other location
• 3:45 pm: Welcome with tea and/or coffee and Indian homemade snacks
• 4:30 pm: Introduction to cooking class, spices, and ingredients
