Balinese Home-Style Cooking Class and Market Tour in Kuta Village

Want to live like a Balinese local for a day? Chef Maria invites you into her home kitchen and local neighborhood for a hands-on cooking class and market tour. 

You will start the day at the new Kuta market in a non-touristy area (Pasar Kuta Bahru, which is walking distance from Maria's house), where Maria will introduce you to native and seasonal produce. 

Everyone will then return to her house, where you'll whip up 3 classic Indonesian/Balinese dishes of your choice. You'll receive detailed recipes and photos before you leave so you can make the dishes again at home. 

This cooking class and market tour is a truly authentic immersion into local Balinese life. Chef Maria's home has an air-conditioner and is fully equipped with all cooking utensils.

Set daily menu, or you can choose your menu

Mon, Tue, Wed:

• Beef semur
• Chicken betutu
• Vegetable tumis

Thur, Fri, Sat:

• Beef rendang
• Chicken sate with peanuts
• Vegetable Gado-gado

Or you can choose 4-5 dishes to cook. Some of the most popular dishes:

• Beef Rendang (beef cooked in coconut milk and chilli paste)
• Chicken Sate with Peanut Sauce
• Nasi Goreng (fried rice)
• Chicken Bumbu Bali (spicy chicken soup)
• Gado-gado with peanut sauce
• Fish pepes (fish and spice, wrapped in banana leaf, then steamed)
• Chicken Betutu 

スケジュール

• 8:30 am: Pick up from your hotel
• 8:40 am: Local market tour that's far from the tourist area
• 10:00 am: Back to Maria's home to start cooking
• 12:00 pm: Enjoy your lunch and chat with the chef 
• 1:00 pm: End of the class and drop off
