Authentic Street Food Cooking Class in Palermo

During this class, chef Maria Pia, Sicilian mother of 4, will guide you step by step through the cooking process in order to pass on to you all the knowledge she has acquired during her life in the kitchen. She will guide you through three dishes from the Sicilian street food culinary tradition. We will make sure that you master the necessary techniques to make these dishes as only Maria Pia can do. 

After we finish cooking, you will enjoy the food you made. More importantly, you will bring back home the techniques and tricks you learned to show off to your friends and family. 

Menu

Starter:

• Panelle - Sicilian fritters made from chickpea flour and other ingredients

Main Course:

• Arancina - breaded and fried rice ball usually stuffed with meat sauce, even if there are many other variations

Dessert:

• Seasonal jelly (Watermelon in the summer; Mandarin or orange in the winter) 

Schema

• 10:30 am: Everyone meets at school and get ready for the class
• 10:40 am: Begin the class with an introduction about all ingredients and menu by Maria Pia
• 11:00 am: Start to make the first traditional dish
• 12:00 pm: You will learn how to make the second traditional dish
• 1:00 pm: You will learn how to make the third dish from our culinary tradition
• 2:00 pm: Time to share every dish that you made with everyone in the class.
• 3:00 pm: The end of the class
