Khmisa and Kawtar, two Moroccan women passionate about cooking, welcome you to Marrakech for a meal at Khmisa's place in the heart of the Medina.

Khmisa, a chef for 25 years now, specialised in Morrocan cuisine and pastry, and has worked for renowned hotel establishments in Rabat and Marrakech. Kawtar graduated with a university degree in hospitality and tourism, and will also assist you during your cooking class and help translate for Chef Khmisa.

The cooking class will be at Chef Khmisa's place, a traditional Moroccan house in the heart of the medina. The house is located in the medina near the central square of Jemaa el fna. You will be walking through the souk to buy the fresh groceries in the middle the market stalls filled with spices and local traditions.

This is a private course, so you can come individually or with a group. The cooking course starts at 10:00 am and ends at lunchtime.

Monday to Sunday

Morning Session

10:00 am: Meeting and introduction before starting our shopping the fresh products in the local market.
10:30 am: Arrive at Khmisa's house, enjoy a welcome drink, and learn how to make Moroccan mint tea
11:00 am: Cooking class with Chef Khmisa and Chef Kawtar.
1:00 pm: Enjoy your cooking over lunch.
2:00 pm: End of the cooking class.

Afternoon Session

2:30 pm: Meeting and introduction before starting our shopping the fresh products in the local market.

Amazing experience

Mrs khmisa and her niece are very friendly. I had asked them for a certain dish the night before which they don't usually make and to my surprise they put it on the menu and it turned out delicious. The class is inside Mrs khmisa's home which is quite simple but they taught us about different spices and moroccon ingredients and we actually cooked really delicious food. What was most amazing was the experience itself and meeting foodies from all over the world and sitting down in her living room afterwards to eat the amazing meal. A truly memorable experience.

Amazing, intimate and fun!!

We loved meeting to shop for our ingredients. We were each assigned different veggies to pick out at the market as we made our way from stall to stall, finding all the right things to make our meal! After a very short walk, we came to Khmisa’s aunt’s house where her aunt was waiting with hugs for everyone! The class was hands-on and very interactive. We made, and poured, our tea the Moroccan way…up up up. The group was fun, Khmisa and her aunt were amazing…the whole experience was fantastic!

Great experience - highly recommend

We had an amazing afternoon at Kawtar and Khmisa’s class. They were both so welcoming and we learned a lot about Moroccan cooking. The group was managed very well and everyone had the opportunity to join in. The food was delicious! This was definitely a highlight of our holiday!
