體驗內容

I'm Emi and I welcome you to my home. My sushi class includes three kinds of sushi (Temari, Nigiri and Gunkan-makiax), Chawan-mushi (Japanese steamed egg custard) and miso soup. If you don't know Chawan-mushi yet, try it, it's very yummy. And you can learn how to make real Miso soup. It's absolutely different from an instant one from the supermarket. You will know the culture and history behind the soup too.

Preparing a dish is a combination of arts and crafts. Cooking is only a small part of the production process. In a dish there is the main ingredient and there are several accompanying ingredients. Each ingredient is carefully and selected and matched with the main ingredient in a definite order and manner. Does it make you think of a symphony orchestra? Yes. A dish is a symphony of perfectly matched tastes.

My place is also 20 minute's walk from Warner Bros.Studio Japan - Harry Potter Museum. Don't miss adding this class to your trip.

Full-course Meal

3 kinds of Sushi (Temari, Nigiri and Gunkan-maki)
Chawan-mushi (Japanese steamed egg custard) or Japanese omelet
Miso soup

If you're interested in Japanese sake, plus on fee is JPY 700 per person, pay on arrival

About the food

Temari sushi: ball-shaped sushi with a topping of fresh seafood, or vegetables.
Nigiri sushi: hand-formed sushi with a topping of seafood, etc.
Gunkan-maki: nori wrapped style sushi, making a small space with the rolling nori on the top of the rice ball and enabling sushi chef to place salmon row, sea urchin and other things which are something fluid there.
We use salmon, tuna, egg, cucumber, shrimps, etc for ingredients but they will change depending on the season.

Emi will meet you at the exit of Nerima station, holding a signboard ‘Emi's kitchen’. Nerima is 20 min from Shinjuku and 30 min from Ginza. You can take metro line: Oedo, Seibu-Ikebukuro, Yurakucho or Fuku-toshin lines to get there.

Excellent!

As someone new to Japan, I ended up being 15 minutes late to the class because I took the wrong train ;( Despite that, the instructor was very nice, and we managed to take our time through the whole class. It was fun learning the three different types of sushi, and I feel like I'm able to take these skills and practice them back in the USA :) She was fun to talk to, and was happy to share her knowledge of Japan. The food was super great too, when it was ready. This was a very rewarding experience with an engaging person to teach you. I highly recommend 😁

My parents and I booked the sushi making class and we loved it. Emi made it very fun and we made lots of delicious sushi. My dad did not enjoy sushi before, and this changed his mind and he now enjoys it! I would thoroughly recommend this class to anyone

Lovely teacher and delicious food

My friend and I originally booked the sushi class but since I am vegetarian, we asked for a vegetarian sushi option. Unfortunately this wasn’t possible but Emi offered to teach us another japanese dish. We decided to cook Okonomiyaki and it was delicious! We also cooked a soup and prepared a sidedish and in the end Emi gave us a japanese orange, it was soooo good. Emi was lovely and made sure we felt comfortable. She picked us up from the station and walked us back to the station after the class, such a sweetheart. Her english was great so it was super easy to hold a conversation with her. We had an amazing experience and would totally recommend to book this class! Thank you Emi

An overall fun experience

Booking this class was a good idea. Emi was an effective teacher. I learned about sushi and Japanese food culture. There was also a lot of food, and I went home, stuffed. You have to consider booking here if you're in Tokyo.

Great experience

I had a great time with Emi. Really relaxed and informal fun time at Emi's home. Learned a lot about sushi and made some really interesting dishes! Definitely go with an empty stomach as there is so much delicious food to eat by the end!
