Afternoon Izakaya Class is a great way to immerse yourself in Japanese dining culture as well as learn authentic and popular Japanese foods that are eaten at home and in local restaurants. The course consists of two parts.
First, you will cook 2-3 dishes and enjoy them. Then you will return to the kitchen and learn 2-3 more dishes before eating once more. Enjoy cooking and eating a variety of dishes in cozy atmosphere just like in Izakaya restaurants (Japanese style pubs)!

The menu will change seasonally. In the Winter Menu, you will be cooking the ones below.
- Vinegar marinated bellows cucumber（蛇腹きゅうりの酢の物）
- Grilled chicken and burdock meatball（鶏ごぼうつくね）
- Pumpkin soup with white miso and soy milk（南瓜の白味噌スープ）
- Deep-fried chicken fillet with salted plum and shiso leaf （ささ身梅しそ揚げ）
- Japanese style dashi soup based beef pasta（牛肉の和風パスタ）
- Hojicha tea flavored sorbet （ほうじ茶ソルベ）
Optional Sake tasting: 500JPY/grass (approx. 5USD), pay in cash to the class
일정
- 2:00 pm: You will be welcomed by our staff with green tea
- 2:10 pm: Briefly explain the class and wear Samue (working clothes for Buddhist monks) as an apron
- 2:30 pm: Learn about Dashi broth (basic soup stock for Japanese cuisine) and various types of seasonings (Soy sauce, Mirin, Sake, Miso, etc.)
- 3:00 pm: Cook 5-6 authentic Japanese dishes
- 5:00 pm: Enjoy meal and end of the class
