An Authentic Experience: Dumpling Cooking Class with a Local Family

Whether you are traveling in the north or the south of China, one delicacy you are almost sure to find on the menu is the dumpling. A universal favorite, the Chinese dumpling has a long history and is an essential part of celebratory meals such as those prepared for the Chinese lunar Spring Festival.  In China, an old saying goes, “Nothing could be more delicious than dumplings”.

You will greet your local tour guide in the hotel lobby and then you’ll begin your fascinating tour to the Chinese local family to experience the Chinese life and then to make the Chinese-style food: dumplings following the experienced Chinese housewife. 

From kneading the dough, rolling the wrappers, mixing the filling ingredients. Then to enjoy the dumpling together with your new local friends.

Afternoon Class

• 5:00 pm: Pick-up at your hotel 
• 5:30 pm: Arrive at the local family
• 5:40 pm: Introduction and tea tasting
• 5:50 pm: Starts the cooking class
• 6:30 pm: Time to enjoy your dumpling made by yourself
• 7:00 pm: End of the cooking class
• 7:30 pm: Bring you back to the hotel
